Join to discuss image manipulations in the next ReproducibiliTea meeting!

Welcome to discuss the interesting topic of image manipulations!

Will you be able to spot the manipulations? What drives people to manipulate images?

Join our second  ReproducibiliTea journal club to discuss these themes and test in practice if you can spot the manipulations. We are offering tea and pulla and would like to know if you plan to join. The registration is not binding but helps us to plan the amount of snacks. Please let us know by November 25th but still come over even if you are late for the registration!  https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/132257/lomakkeet.html

What? Our second ReproducibiliTea journal club where we will discuss the theme of image manipulation with a practical approach. Our example article will be "hnRNP K: An HDM2 Target and Transcriptional Coactivator of p53 in Response to DNA Damag, Moumen et al. 2016".  Link to The article PDF version  or copy to browser https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vTpB8wmkDS1d7Ud7M-XamVJTyCYK3ytW/view

HiLIFE / Biomedicum Helsinki seminar by Taija Mäkinen: Lymphatic vessels in tissue homeostasis and disease – insights from microscopic and transcriptional decoding at the single cell level

Lymphatic vessels in tissue homeostasis and disease – insights from microscopic and transcriptional decoding at the single cell level
Taija Mäkinen’s research focuses on the mechanisms regulating the lymphatic vascular system, which is increasingly recognized for its multifaceted roles and broad pathological relevance. By investigating the fundamental processes governing the developmental growth of lymphatic vasculature, her research has identified key regulators with implications for genetic human diseases and potential therapeutic targets. Additionally, her research explores the role of lymphatic vessels as organ-specific paracrine regulators of tissue homeostasis and disease processes. Recent advancements in her lab include the use of longitudinal intravital imaging to study homeostatic and disease mechanisms, as well as therapy responses, in mouse models of vascular disease (accepted in Nature).

Taija Mäkinen is currently a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki, and Uppsala University, Sweden, and serves as the Director of the Wihuri Research Institute in Biomedicum Helsinki.

Welcome to this exciting seminar!
Pipsa Saharinen
