HiLIFE webinar / Viikki Monday Seminar on October; Priya Moorjani
Reconstructing Evolutionary History and Processes: Insights from Analysis of Present-day and Ancient Genomes
Assistant Professor Priya Moorjani from the University of California, Berkeley, USA will give a talk in the HiLIFE seminar series on October 28th at 13.00-14.00.
Priya Moorjani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology and Center for Computational Biology at University of California, Berkeley. She grew up in India and studied at the University of Mumbai (Bachelor of Engineering). She did her PhD at Harvard University and then a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University before joining the faculty of the University of California in 2018. Her lab uses genetic data from present-day and ancient individuals to learn about human history, evolution and disease. The research in her lab is supported by grants from Burroughs Wellcome Fund, Sloan foundation, National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
