Campus specific events will be arranged for questions regarding the upcoming salaried positions for doctoral researchers as part of the doctoral education pilot. We invite the scientific community for Q&A event on the upcoming doctoral education pilot at Meilahti Campus on Feb 28th. Doctoral School of the University Helsinki, Head of Services Erkki Raulo and Director Minna Palander-Collin will present an overview of the process and answer questions.
The Ministry of Education and Culture allocated the following doctoral researcher 3-year positions in medicine to the University of Helsinki:
- Doctoral Education Pilot in Precision Cancer Medicine: 122 positions (under the flagship area of iCAN – Digital Precision Cancer Medicine)
- National Doctoral Education Pilot based on Immune system: 10 positions
The call for salaried positions for doctoral researchers at the University of Helsinki will be open between 18.3.-3.4.2024 and the selection of candidates are made in June 2024. The first group of doctoral researchers in the pilot will start in August of this year, and the second group in January 2025.
Applications are accepted from persons who have not been awarded the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki before November 2023 or who will receive the right to pursue postgraduate studies within six months of the beginning of the employment period. The doctoral researchers in the pilot will be placed in the existing doctoral programmes of the University of Helsinki.
Biostatistics drop-in workshop
Are you a researcher needing support with any statistical aspect of your work? The Biostatistics Consulting Service here at Meilahti Campus holds drop-in workshop sessions every other week to answer smaller questions about your analysis - solving a particular problem, how to get started, etc. We provide service in Finnish, English and Swedish.
The next workshop is on Wednesday 28th February, at 13:00-15:00 in Biomedicum 2B, in the Olohuone on floor 6. Come whenever you can. Note that you may end up waiting a while for your turn, especially early on in the session. We aim to spend no more than 15 minutes with each customer.
Bring:
· your computer

Sessions are planned to continue roughly every other week throughout the spring: 20.3 (note 3-week interval), 3.4, 17.4, 8.5 (N.B. not 1.5!), etc.
