Mitokondriotautipäivä - Mitochondrial Disease Day

Tervetuloa mitokondriotautipäivään!

 

Kansainvälistä mitokondriotautien viikoa (World Mitochondrial Disease Week) vietetään 18.-24. syyskuuta 2023, ja viikon kunniaksi me Helsingin yliopiston mitokondriotutkijat avaamme ovet mitokondriotautitutkimuksen maailmaan!

 

Tule tutustumaan työhömme ja kuulemaan mitä mitokondriotutkimuksessa tapahtuu nyt. Meillä on mukana tutkijalääkärit vastaamassa mieltä askarruttaviin kysymyksiin, potilaspuheenvuoroja elämästä mitokondriotaudin kanssa, ja teemme retken tutkimuslaboratorioon.

Pattern and process in convergent evolution: What can snakes tell us about phenotypic innovation?  

Dr. Alison Davis Rabosky is an Associate Professor and Curator at the University of Michigan who studies trait evolution in lizards and snakes. Her current work focuses on the evolution of coral snake mimicry, as well as the major sensory traits involved in ecological diversification across snakes. She completed her B.A. at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, USA (2002) and Ph.D. (2009) at the University of California, Santa Cruz, USA. She is passionate about biodiversity education in all its forms, and she is the recipient of both a CAREER award from the US National Science Foundation and the National Meritorious Teaching Award in Herpetology given jointly by the US Herpetological Societies (SSAR/ASIH/HL).
