
Next call for grants: May 2027
The objective of Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation is to promote research in clinical medicine and in other health sciences.
The Board of Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation consists of seven members. The organization of the general facilities and use of space at Biomedicum Helsinki Real Estate company has been arranged in a partnership agreement among the owners. According to this agreement, Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation may provide recommendations on the use of space to ensure high quality research and complementing activities.
The Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation is also one of the organizers of the Studia Medicina event series together with UH Medical Faculty and HUS. The Foundation also organizes the Biomeidcum Helsinki Day event, where the yearly grants are rewarded.
Grants
The Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation supports high-quality research in clinical medicine and university level research in health sciences. In order to be eligable, applicants need to be affiliated with the University of Helsinki or Helsinki University Hospital.
The Foundation has supported especially young scientists at a total level of about 300 000 €/year.

Studia Medicina
The Studia Medicina lecture series presents medical topics for the public in Finnish and Swedish 6 times per year. The series is organised as a collaboration between the Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation, Medical Faculty of the University of Helsinki and HUS.
