New Executive Director of the Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation as of 1.1.2024
As the term of office of the current director expires on 31.12.2023, the new executive director of the Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation as of 1.1.2024 will be eMBA, graduate engineer, Jouni Lounasmaa, as elected by the board of the foundation. He has long experience as a director for medical foundations (e.g. The Finnish Medical Foundation and New Children’s Hospital Foundation). He has also served as a board member of the Association of Finnish Foundations and as an author of the Foundation Good Governance Guide.
The Foundation would like to thank Professor Tomi Mäkelä, who has been the Foundation’s director since 2014, for his valuable work for the Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation and the Biomedicum Helsinki community.
