Biology of tRNA-derived RNAs

Associate Professor Pavel Ivanov from the Harvard University, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, USA will give a talk in the HiLIFE seminar series on June 11th at 13.00-14.00. 

Pavel did his joined PhD work in Moscow State University (Chemistry of nucleic acids) and Berlin (Max Plank Institute of Molecular Genetics) studying ribosomes. He then moved to EMBL ( Heidelberg, Germany) where he studied eukaryotic RNA quality control mechanisms. In 2008, he moved to Boston (Harvard Medical School) for his second postdoc to study mammalian stress responses with focus on stress granules and tRNA metabolism. In 2010, he established his own lab at HMS (currently as an Associate Professor of Medicine) to study post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression under stress and in the context of age-related diseases.
