Lobby services are responsible for receiving and assisting visitors to Biomedicum Helsinki, providing guidance, and ensuring the security of the property.

In addition, lobby services handle key services, such as issuing access badges and keys, as well as providing related guidance.

Property and maintenance services for Biomedicum Helsinki are provided by Are Oy, which ensures the functionality of the building’s technical systems and carries out fault repairs in accordance with the maintenance agreement.

Report an issue

The property’s cleaning contract covers maintenance cleaning of all premises in accordance with a separate service description.

Laboratories, procedure rooms, sanitary facilities, kitchens/break rooms, as well as lobbies and corridors are cleaned every weekday.

Offices are cleaned once a week.

Additional work is billed separately to the ordering unit.

Waste management at the property is handled by Verdis Oy. Collection points for cardboard, confidential paper, and office paper are available on every floor. Waste bins in offices are emptied by cleaners into a mixed waste compactor.

The property’s waste room is located on the basement level (access authorization required). It also contains other waste fractions, including hazardous waste, which is managed by NG Nordic Oy (a contract is required).

If you notice broken glass, litter, fallen trees, or other issues related to safety and cleanliness in the outdoor areas, we ask that you report them to the property management. Reports will be forwarded to the party responsible for maintaining the outdoor areas.

Equipment maintenance services serve all units operating in the Biomedicum Helsinki building and are centrally located in the Biomedicum 1 building. Equipment maintenance plays a key role in laboratory-based research, teaching, sample analysis, and infection control on the Meilahti campus.

The property’s liquid nitrogen network and related contracts are the responsibility of Kiinteistö Oy Biomedicum Helsinki.
